RAL COLOURS News December 2022

Merry Christmas

Dear readers,

the year 2022 is slowly drawing to a close. We would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families, friends and acquaintances a merry Christmas, a happy New Year and a good start into the new year. We would like to thank you for allowing us to accompany you colourfully this year and for placing your trust in RAL COLOURS.

We look back on an eventful year, which was marked by profound changes, especially the war in Ukraine and the accompanying uncertainties. In addition to the already familiar fragile supply chains and galloping price trends, 2022 was effected by energy shortages and unprecedented supply gaps of some goods. Corona has also not yet said goodbye, not to mention the common fight against climate change.

In addition to this depressing news, however, there were also thoroughly positive news that unfortunately made it far too rarely onto the front pages of the newspapers or into the television studios. This undoubtedly includes the fact that people in Germany have donated more money to charitable organisations this year than ever before. There is an unbroken willingness to help refugees who come to us. The USA has launched a gigantic support package for sustainable infrastructure and only climate-neutral buildings may be built from 2030 in Europe.

For RAL COLOURS there were some pleasing news in the year 2022 too, which we would like share with you today and thus send a little confidence in difficult times.

Once again RAL COLOURS is part of the publication series "The Major Brands in Germany" and in addition to the colour trend report RAL COLOUR FEELING 2023+ the innovative RAL Trend Box is available for the first time this year. With the RAL K6 Box and the RAL K6 single sheets we have rounded off the RAL CLASSIC assortment and are constantly working on making shopping in the RAL Online Shop even easier and safer. Read here for yourself!

Even though the macro-economic framework data for 2023 anticipate immense challenges, we wish you not only happiness and health for the new year, but above all optimism with which we will master the tasks ahead. Creative solutions, concepts and materials will amaze us and lead to new opportunities. We will continue to be at your side as your partner for good colour design.

Sincerely,

your RAL COLOURS editorial team

RAL COLOURS was once again published in the publication series "The Major Brands in Germany". The book is published by the German Design Council and is entitled: "Recreate. Transform. Be resilient." in 2023. In the new edition the focus is primarily on the connection between brand, design and innovation.

The publication was presented at the Design Gala in Berlin and at the same time representatives of the portrayed companies as well as personalities from business, culture and politics came together.

Neudorf quarter in Strasbourg shines in RAL colours

In Strasbourg you find an architectural highlight since the beginning of 2021. The Paris based architectural firm LAN paid special attention to the interplay of form and colour for the eight buidlings in total. The harmony of the buildings and their integration into the rest of the surrounding were given special importance. Each of the buildings is realised in a different RAL colour, which expresses individuality and turns the quarter into something very special.

RAL Trend Box for long-term design with trend colours

This year, for the first time, the RAL Trend Box was developed to complement the colour trend report RAL COLOUR FEELING 2023+, which connects the themes of colour and material and focuses on holistic design. It shows the 15 this year’s trend colours in 4 materials: as carpet samples, RAL A6 colour sheets, plastic samples and powder-coated metal samples.

RAL publishes a comprehensive colour trend report every year with the RAL COLOUR FEELING. With the current trend report an activating to regenerating colour palette of 15 shades has been created under the title SHARE + APPLY, which key lies in the easy combinability of the colours.

In the current video of the RAL on the road series we visit the "yellow angels" - the ADAC - and want to clarify whether the yellow of the yellow angels is a RAL colour, why the ADAC identifies itself with the colour and where yellow can be found everywhere at the ADAC.
